Dr. Vathis brings a strong academic and clinical foundation in the health sciences. He works with an integrative, individualized approach, drawing on contemporary methods of psychotherapy and personal empowerment, always following a comprehensive clinical assessment and clear, informed communication with the patient.
Medical Education & Specialization
Dr. Vathis studied Medicine at the University of Athens (NKUA) and completed his specialty training in Psychiatry in full at the Aeginition University Hospital (Athens). His medical education was preceded by a BSc in Biochemistry & Physiology in the United Kingdom.
Psychotherapy & Clinical Approaches
His therapeutic approach is integrative. Alongside his psychiatric specialization, he trained intensively in Psychotherapy (Systemic, Cognitive, and Psychoanalytic). He is a certified Systemic–Family Psychotherapist and a holder of the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP). He subsequently specialized in EMDR trauma therapy and in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
Complementary Training & Empowerment
Recognizing the need for a broader framework of mental health support, he undertook long-term studies spanning a total of 10 years in complementary approaches, including a Master's degree (MSc) from the University of the Aegean. He also holds specialized training in Life Coaching and in Corporate/Executive Coaching. This enables him to provide targeted guidance both on a personal level—for self-improvement and goal-setting—and on a corporate level, supporting the development of senior executives (C-Level/Executives).
